Cheap.
Lots of connectors, cables, power adapters and headphones included.
Carrying case.
Has an SD card slot and USB connector for digital media.
Plays DVDs, CDs and _some_ digital media on USB sticks, drives, memory cards and burnable disks.
Supports jpg slide shows.
Screen flips over for tablet mode.
Built in battery for some cordless use time.
Cons:
Doesn't play VCDs or SVCDs.
Definitely doesn't play H.264 video.
Other video formats stored on data disks, USB devices or cards are hit or miss.
Might play XVID movies, might play MPEG4 movies, might not.
Instruction manual doesn't say what formats are supported.
Website doesn't say what formats are supported.
No long file name support for digital media.
Case looks like it might mount on headrest -- it doesn't. You'll need a separate mount for that.
Controls are unresponsive.

Good cheap portable DVD player, October 5, 2010 This review is from: Haier PDVD9KIT 9-Inch Wide Portable DVD Swivel Screen with USB & Care Reader (Electronics) We were in the market for a cheap portable DVD player for long car rides with the kids, and this one has done pretty well for the most part.
Pros:
- Easy to use: the controls and remote are easy to use and understand.
- Comes with both AC and DC power adapters
- The rotating screen works well. We rest the player on the console of the car and let the screen face the back seat.
- The player performs decently on bumpy roads and doesn't freeze or skip.
- An internal battery lets the DVD player run for a few hours.
- The carry case is designed to be hung over the seat head rest.
Cons:
- For car rides, headphones or a connection to the car stereo's AUX input is necessary. The speakers aren't loud enough to overcome road noise.
- The picture isn't top-notch (a little grainy and the colors aren't incredibly crisp), but we knew this thing wouldn't be anywhere near 1080p.
Bottom Line: It's a cheap 9" portable DVD player... Read more

very disappointed :(, July 26, 2010 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Haier PDVD9KIT 9-Inch Wide Portable DVD Swivel Screen with USB & Care Reader (Electronics) I got this product for my little girl for part of her 2nd bday present. The 1st time we used it was on our week long beach trip. I was very very disappointed! The volume wld b on max but u cld jst barely hear it and also it skipped all the time. Whr the volume was so low we wouldnt even know it had gotten stuck. I think it was a prob w/the product itself. I def dont think it had anythg to do w/amazon and plan on purchasing another portable dvd player from amazon. But I wldnt recommend this dvd player to anyone.
